Job Description

The primary purpose of a Workshop Controller is to oversee and manage the workflow within the service workshop. This includes coordinating repair and maintenance jobs, ensuring work is completed on time, maintaining high service quality standards, managing technician schedules, and providing customer service support. The role also involves ensuring that all work adheres to BMW standards and safety protocols, while optimizing efficiency and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Smooth functioning & organization of the workshop procedures & developing its turnover & profitability.
  • Making a daily target/actual comparison to check turnover.
  • Maximum utilization of workshop capacity, manpower and repair quality.
  • Apprentice training & coordinating on-job training with training manager.
  • In charge of warranty and warranty procedures during repair process.
  • Preventing accidents in the workshop.
  • Correct use and maintenance of workshop equipment.
  • Ensuring the work quality based on QMA guidelines for repair quality.
  • Following the QMA and BMW Group procedures & guidelines.
  • Working flexible hours depending on the workload.
  • Ensuring that all work descriptions and checking are completed correctly on the rear of the job card prior to testing of the vehicle.
  • Ensuring that the workshop staff and team leader sign off the repairs once the job is ready for testing.
  • Ensuring that all workshop staff adhere to the time schedules for the workload.
  • Ensuring staff adherence to working hours schedule.
  • Ensure proper communication between service reception staff & workshop through the right details.
  • Ensure adherence & compliance with policies, procedures, ISO standards, Health & Safety requirements, ethical code of conduct & values.

Qualifications/Requirements/Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in Automotive Quality Control (preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in vehicle inspection, quality control, or a similar role in the automotive industry.
  • Prior experience with luxury or premium car brands is a plus.
  • Strong technical knowledge of automotive diagnostics, repairs, and BMW service standards.
  • Attention to detail to identify defects, incomplete repairs, and inconsistencies.
  • Problem-solving skills to resolve quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork to collaborate with technicians and service advisors.
