Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Workshop Manager to lead the operations of our heavy machinery workshop, specializing in earth-moving equipment. The role is responsible for ensuring efficient maintenance, repair, and availability of equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and other heavy-duty machinery to support ongoing operations.

Key Responsibilities

The key duties and responsibilities of the Workshop Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and supervise all workshop activities, including maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of earth-moving equipment.
  • Lead and oversee a team of technicians, mechanics, and support staff to ensure high performance and productivity.
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained to the highest safety and operational standards.
  • Diagnose complex mechanical and technical issues and provide guidance to the team.
  • Coordinate with operations to ensure equipment availability and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and equipment history.
  • Monitor and control workshop inventory, including spare parts, tools, and consumables.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and company standards.
  • Optimize workshop performance, cost control, and efficiency.
  • Liaise with suppliers and vendors for procurement of parts and external services.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Workshop Manager or similar role within heavy machinery or construction industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of earth-moving equipment (excavators, bulldozers, loaders, etc.) and diesel engines.
  • Solid leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and industry standards.
