Job Overview:

As the Workshop Manager for Legend World Automobile Service, you will lead the daily operations of our service center, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, strong leadership, and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate will oversee the end-to-end workshop function managing technicians and mechanics, optimizing workflow, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and driving performance to meet operational and customer service targets. This role is central to building a reliable, efficient, and customer-centric service experience that upholds Legend's reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Workshop Operations & Planning

  • Lead and manage the overall operations of the workshop, ensuring smooth execution of repair, maintenance, and inspection activities.
  • Develop and implement daily work plans and schedules to ensure efficient job allocation, optimal use of resources, and minimal vehicle downtime.
  • Enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety regulations, and manufacturer guidelines to maintain consistent service quality.
  • Oversee workshop infrastructure, tools, and equipment ensuring they are properly maintained, calibrated, and available when required.

2. Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Supervise and support workshop staff, including technicians, mechanics, and service advisors, to ensure high-quality workmanship and productivity.
  • Recruit, train, and develop team members to build technical competence and service excellence.
  • Establish clear performance goals, conduct periodic evaluations, and implement coaching or training interventions as needed.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work culture that emphasizes teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.

3. Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor ongoing repair and maintenance jobs to ensure adherence to quality standards and timely completion.
  • Conduct regular inspections of completed work and identify areas for improvement.
  • Introduce process enhancements, new technologies, or diagnostic tools that improve operational efficiency and reduce rework.
  • Maintain accurate records of repair history, job cards, and performance metrics to support data-driven decision-making.

4. Customer Service & Relationship Management

  • Ensure exceptional customer experience through transparent communication and professional handling of all customer interactions.
  • Address and resolve customer concerns promptly, maintaining trust and satisfaction at every touchpoint.
  • Collaborate with front-office and service advisors to ensure accurate estimates, realistic timelines, and high service standards.
  • Promote a customer-first approach within the team, aligning all workshop activities to service excellence goals.

5. Financial & Operational Control

  • Develop, monitor, and manage the workshop's operating budget to ensure cost efficiency and profitability.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, utilization, and customer satisfaction to evaluate business performance.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through better resource utilization, inventory management, and workflow optimization.
  • Maintain oversight of spare parts usage and inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.

6. Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure the workshop operates in full compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Implement regular safety audits, toolbox talks, and staff training sessions on occupational safety practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment to ensure the safety of all personnel and visitors.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 710 years of experience in automotive service operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of diagnostics, repair procedures, and vehicle systems across multiple brands.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills.
  • Proficiency in workshop management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage budgets and drive operational improvements.
  • Fluency in English required; Arabic, Hindi, or Urdu is an advantage.
