The Workshop Manager oversee the daily operations of the workshop. He will be responsible for managing a team of technicians and ensuring that all work is performed to the highest standards of quality and safety. The Workshop Manager will be responsible for implementing and managing systems and procedures that drive efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve customer satisfaction.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the day-to-day operations of the workshop, including scheduling work and prioritizing tasks.
Oversee the work of technicians, ensuring that all work is performed efficiently and to the highest standards of quality.
Ensure that all necessary tools and equipment are available and maintained to support workshop operations.
Manage inventory levels of consumable and office supplies, ensuring that adequate stock is available to support workshop operations
Work with the Sales team to schedule work and prioritize jobs according to customer requirements.
Ensuring and maintain that workshop is a safe environment for technicians and customers. This includes maintaining a clean and organized workspace, ensuring that all equipment is in good working order and enforcing safety protocols.
Liaise with purchasing department, storekeeper, and other stakeholders to ensure that work is completed on time
Liaise closely and when necessary with the service manager for invoicing, payment, technician performance, warranty job and technical training
Maintain accurate records of all workshop activities, including work orders, invoicing, and job costing.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
The workshop manager is responsible for ensuring that customers receive prompt, courteous and effective service. This includes communicating with customers throughout the repair process, providing estimate and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
Promote and sell service agreement.
The workshop manager and service manager are jointly responsible for the workshop and assigned service area P&L
Must Know how to work on warranty claims.
. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in business management or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a workshop management role in the marine industry
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with customers and suppliers.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
Knowledge of outboard and inboard engines and their components
Proficient with computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
