Job Purpose
To plan and coordinate of maintenance activities for components and other workshop units. The Workshop Planning Engineer is responsible for creating detailed schedules, assigning daily work targets, tracking progress, and preparing performance reports, ensuring optimal use of manpower and resources within the workshop.
Key Result Responsibilities
- Receive work scopes and shop visit requests from CAMO or Component Planning teams.
- Prepare detailed schedules for shop visits
- Plan, allocate, and communicate daily work assignments and targets to workshop technicians.
- Monitor progress against plan and adjust schedules as necessary to meet turnaround time (TAT) commitments.
- Coordinate with Quality, Logistics, Tooling, and Stores to ensure timely availability of required parts, tools, and documentation.
- Track work-in-progress (WIP) and maintain real-time updates in AMOS,
- Escalate issues that may cause delays (e.g., material shortages, findings, manpower constraints).
- Prepare post-visit reports analyzing TAT, labor hours, delays, non-routines, and findings.

- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on workshop efficiency, scheduling, and resource utilization.
- Participate in daily planning meetings and cross-department coordination with stakeholders.
- Planning of materials, consumables and tooling for workshops.
- Management of AMOS-CROM & CMP projects.
People Management
- Provides direction, coaching and guidance to team members for their career and professional development.
- Creates a conducive working environment to build and sustain a performance driven, engaged, and committed team.
- Ensures people management responsibilities are handled effectively in line with company procedures.
Qualifications (Academic, Training, Languages)
- Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical / Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Proficient in building and managing Gantt charts and detailed schedules.
- Clear and effective communicator, both written and verbal, across departments and levels.
- Familiar with airline or MRO operations, maintenance procedures, and technical documentation.
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint for reporting.
- Understanding of workshop processes and turnaround planning.
- Awareness of human factors in aircraft maintenance activities.
Work Experience
- 4+ years of experience in workshop maintenance planning.
- Experience using project planning tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and maintenance software such as AMOS TRAX (AMOS Preferred).
