The Role

The Yoga and Meditation Teacher is responsible for leading guests in yoga and meditation sessions that promote relaxation, mindfulness, and overall well-being. This role requires a deep understanding of various yoga styles and meditation techniques, as well as the ability to create a serene and supportive environment for guests seeking rejuvenation and tranquility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Class Instruction Lead engaging and accessible yoga and meditation classes tailored to varying skill levels, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
  • Guest Consultation Conduct individual assessments to understand guests needs and preferences, recommending appropriate classes and techniques to enhance their experience.
  • Session Preparation Prepare and organize class materials, including props and equipment, to create a welcoming and peaceful atmosphere.
  • Mindfulness Promotion Encourage mindfulness and self-awareness through guided meditation practices, helping guests cultivate a deeper connection to themselves.
  • Service/Product Promotion Actively promote wellness programs, workshops, and related spa services or products that complement the yoga and meditation experience, enhancing guest awareness and participation.
  • Health and Safety Compliance Ensure all practices adhere to health and safety standards, maintaining a clean and safe environment for guests.
  • Program Development Collaborate with spa management to develop and implement new classes, workshops, and wellness programs that align with the luxury resort's offerings.
  • Guest Feedback Collect and respond to guest feedback to continually improve class offerings and enhance overall guest satisfaction.

Skills/Knowledge Required

  • Yoga and Meditation Expertise: Extensive knowledge of various yoga styles (e.g., Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin) and meditation techniques, with the ability to adapt practices to suit diverse guest needs.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on providing a welcoming and supportive experience for guests.
  • Leadership and Motivation: Ability to inspire and motivate guests in their practice, fostering a positive and encouraging environment.
  • Adaptability: Strong ability to modify classes based on the needs of participants, ensuring inclusivity and safety.
  • Mindfulness Practices: Understanding of mindfulness principles and their application in yoga and meditation practices.

Physical Requirements

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lead multiple classes and maintain physical endurance throughout sessions.
  • Composure Under Pressure: Maintain professionalism while addressing diverse guest needs and managing class dynamics.

Qualification Standards:

  • Education: Certification from a recognized yoga teacher training program (200 hours or more) is required. Additional certifications in meditation or wellness practices are a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years of experience teaching yoga and meditation, preferably in a luxury spa or resort setting.
  • Grooming: Maintain a professional appearance, adhering to grooming and uniform standards set by the resort.
