We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial records and reporting. In addition to strong technical accounting skills, the successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, a high level of integrity and professionalism, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards. The role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bookkeeping & General Ledger: Maintain complete, accurate, and timely accounting records by preparing journal entries, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, and other general ledger transactions in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Month-End & Year-End Closing: Support the timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded, reconciled, and reported within established deadlines.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare accurate financial reports, schedules, and management information, including variance analysis and commentary, to support informed business decisions and identify trends or discrepancies.
- VAT Compliance: Assist in the preparation, reconciliation, and timely submission of VAT returns while ensuring compliance with applicable tax regulations and maintaining complete supporting documentation.
- Audit Support: Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation, and coordinate with external auditors to facilitate efficient and timely completion of statutory audits.
- Documentation & Record Management: Maintain organized, accurate, and audit-ready financial records and documentation in compliance with internal controls, company policies, and statutory requirements.
- Financial Analysis & Controls: Review financial data for accuracy and completeness, investigate variances and exceptions, identify areas for improvement, and contribute to strengthening financial controls and process efficiencies.
- Collaboration & Business Support: Work closely with finance colleagues and cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues, ensure timely information flow, support multiple entities, and contribute to finance projects and other ad hoc reporting requirements.
Who you are:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 5-6 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or multi-entity environment.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and ERP systems – Oracle Netsuite preferred.
- Knowledge of VAT regulations and compliance requirements is preferred.
- Strong accounting, reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Salary: AED 8,000–10,000 per month, plus performance-based incentives and standard benefits in accordance with UAE Labour Law.
