Jop Purpose:
The accountant is responsible for processing financial transactions, preparing and recording accounting entries, maintaining accurate general ledger accounts, and supporting monthly and annual financial reporting. The role ensures the integrity of financial data, compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements, and timely execution of accounting operations to support AMF's financial management objectives.
Key Accountabilities:
- Prepare and record daily and month-end journal entries in accordance with accounting policies.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in preparing adjusting, accrual, and closing entries during period-end cycles.
- Monitor account balances, identify discrepancies, and initiate corrective actions.
- Process supplier invoices, payment requests, and employee reimbursements.
- Review supporting documents, verify accuracy, and ensure compliance with policies.
- Prepare payment vouchers, follow up on pending items, and ensure timely settlements.
- Support invoicing, revenue recognition, and follow-up of receivable transactions as needed.
- Handling all UAE VAT filling procedure
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Support preparation of management reports, expenditure summaries, and variance analyses.
- Compile financial data for audits, reviews, and internal assessments.
- Coordinate with departments to gather information required for reporting.
- Support fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.
- Maintain accurate asset records and assist in periodic physical verification exercises.
- Perform bank reconciliations and other account reconciliations as assigned.
- Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for review.
- Ensure adherence to AMF's accounting procedures, regulations, and internal controls.
- Identify process improvement areas and recommend enhancements to increase efficiency.
- Maintain proper documentation and ensure timely filing of financial records.
- Support audits by preparing required schedules and responding to queries.
Job Qualifications and Requirements:
Knowledge and Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, general ledger operations, or financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and period-end processes.
- Experience with SAP ERP systems.
- Exposure to financial institutions or international organizations is an advantage.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
Certifications
- Professional certifications such as CMA, CPA, ACCA (completed or in progress) are preferred.
