Role Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to manage our core financial processes and maintain accurate records. This full-time, mid-level, on-site role is crucial for ensuring the integrity of our financial data, supporting leadership with timely reporting, and enabling smooth business operations. Success in this position is measured by the accuracy of our books and the efficiency of our monthly and annual closing processes.
Work Setup & Collaboration
- This is a full-time, on-site position at our Mokattam office.
- You will work with a degree of autonomy on daily accounting tasks, reporting directly to company management.
- Expect close collaboration with various team members to verify expenses and process transactions accurately.
- The role requires a structured approach to meet strict monthly and annual financial closing deadlines.
What You'll Do
- Record and process daily journal entries to ensure all business transactions are accurately captured.
- Manage accounts receivable, including issuing client invoices and updating customer accounts.
- Process accounts payable, ensuring timely vendor payments and performing necessary reconciliations.
- Maintain the general ledger, including reconciling control accounts and preparing fixed asset depreciation schedules.
- Monitor and reconcile all cash and bank account transactions to ensure financial accuracy.
- Lead the preparation of monthly and annual financial closing procedures.
- Assist in the review of employee expenses and support payroll processing as needed.
- Take ownership of key accounting cycles, from transaction entry to reconciliation and reporting.
Success Indicators
- Consistently close the financial books within the first 5 business days of each month.
- Maintain zero discrepancies in bank, accounts receivable, and accounts payable reconciliations.
- Ensure 100% accuracy in client invoicing and vendor payment processing.
- Produce clear and timely financial reports for management review on a regular schedule.
- Effectively manage competing deadlines without compromising attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- 2-3 years of professional experience in a general accounting role.
- Solid understanding of core accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Direct, hands-on experience with accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger (GL) management.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data manipulation.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with high attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Clear communication skills for effective collaboration with management and non-financial colleagues.
