Position Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our construction firm in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have 57 years of hands-on accounting experience within the construction industry, with a strong understanding of project-based financial management, cost control, and UAE accounting standards.
The role involves managing day-to-day financial operations, preparing accurate reports, and supporting management in decision-making through reliable financial insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting operations including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and maintain financial statements, cash flow reports, and project cost summaries.
- Monitor and track project budgets, expenses, and cost allocations.
- Handle supplier invoices, subcontractor payments, and petty cash transactions.
- Support monthly and annual closing processes and ensure timely financial reporting.
- Coordinate with project managers and procurement teams on job costing and expense control.
- Prepare VAT computations and ensure compliance with UAE tax regulations.
- Assist in preparing management reports, forecasts, and budget analyses.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records for audits and financial reviews.
- Liaise with external auditors, banks, and relevant government authorities when required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA preferred).
- 57 years of accounting experience within the construction industry in the UAE.
- Strong understanding of construction project accounting, job costing, and progress billing.
- Proficient in MS Excel and accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, or ERP systems).
- Solid knowledge of UAE VAT laws, financial reporting, and compliance standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid UAE drivers license (preferred).
