Key Responsibilities
1. Tender Review & Analysis
- Study RFQs, tender drawings, specifications, BOQs, and client requirements in detail.
- Identify scope of work, technical requirements, exclusions, and risks.
- Clarify ambiguities in tender documents with clients/consultants when required.
2. System Selection & Technical Compliance
- Select suitable PLC, SCADA, HMI, instrumentation, networking, and field devices based on project needs.
- Ensure proposed systems comply with tender specifications, international standards, and client-approved vendor lists.
- Evaluate alternative technical solutions for cost optimization without compromising compliance.
3. BOQ Preparation & Cost Estimation
- Prepare detailed BOQs for:
- PLC/SCADA systems
- Control panels
- Instrumentation devices
- Cables and accessories
- Network equipment
- Installation and commissioning materials
- Calculate material quantities from drawings and specifications.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates including materials, labor, engineering, testing, and logistics.
4. Vendor Coordination
- Contact suppliers/vendors for quotations and technical proposals.
- Compare quotations technically and commercially.
- Negotiate prices and delivery timelines to optimize project costing.
- Maintain updated vendor database and price records.
5. Proposal Preparation
- Prepare technical and commercial offer submissions.
- Compile compliance statements, technical datasheets, and deviations list.
- Support management in bid strategy and pricing decisions.
6. Internal Coordination
- Coordinate with engineering, projects, procurement, and sales teams during bid preparation.
- Assist project handover team after award for smooth transition to execution.
Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering.
-Strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA, instrumentation, control panels, and industrial communication protocols.
-Experience in reading automation tenders and preparing BOQs.
-Familiarity with brands such as Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, Beckhoff, WAGO, etc.
-Ability to interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, SLDs, and control schematics.
-Good negotiation and vendor management skills.
-Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation tools.
Preferred Experience
- 3–7 years in automation estimation / proposal engineering.
- Experience in utilities, district cooling, water treatment, industrial plants, or infrastructure projects preferred.
