Odoo Key User (ERP Key User / Functional Key User)
Job Summary
The Odoo Key User acts as the primary business representative and functional expert for the Odoo ERP system. This role bridges the gap between business users and the technical/IT team, ensuring Odoo supports business processes effectively and is used correctly across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Functional Ownership
- Act as the main point of contact for Odoo-related questions within the business
- Understand end-to-end business processes and how they are implemented in Odoo
- Ensure correct and consistent use of Odoo modules (e.g., Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Accounting, Manufacturing, HR)
- Define and document business requirements for system improvements
System Support & User Assistance
- Provide first-line support to end users and resolve functional issues
- Identify root causes of problems and coordinate with IT or Odoo partners when needed
- Test system updates, new features, and configurations before deployment
- Validate data accuracy and system outputs
Training & Change Management
- Train users on Odoo functionality and best practices
- Create and maintain user guides, process documentation, and training materials
- Support user adoption and continuous improvement of system usage
Project & Improvement Activities
- Participate in Odoo implementations, upgrades, and rollouts
- Assist in configuring Odoo according to business needs (without deep technical development)
- Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and sign off on functional requirements
- Propose process improvements and system optimizations
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure system usage complies with internal policies and controls
- Support audit activities related to ERP processes
- Maintain master data quality and access rights in coordination with IT
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of business processes (Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, etc.)
- Hands-on experience using Odoo ERP
- Ability to translate business needs into functional system requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience in ERP implementation or optimization projects is a plus
Preferred Experience
- 25 years experience working with Odoo or similar ERP systems
- Experience as a key user, business analyst, or process owner
- Basic understanding of Odoo configuration and workflows
- Experience working with external Odoo partners or consultants
