About the role
Food People is partnered with a well-established FMCG business in the UAE with a strong footprint across retail and foodservice channels. With a growing portfolio and a focus on expanding its ambient category, the business is looking to appoint a Business Development Manager to play a key role in identifying and securing new brand partnerships. This role is critical in driving portfolio growth by bringing in new principals and strengthening the company's position as a preferred distribution partner in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
• Identify and secure new brand principals within the ambient food category for distribution
• Build and manage relationships with international and regional brand owners
• Lead commercial negotiations and onboarding of new brands into the portfolio
• Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with company growth plans
• Work closely with internal sales and marketing teams to ensure successful brand launches
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities
• Represent the company in meetings, trade events, and industry forums
Key Ingredients:
• Proven experience in business development within the FMCG distribution space
• Strong network with brand owners and principals, particularly in ambient food categories
• Demonstrated success in onboarding new brands or principals
• Commercially driven with strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently and drive new business opportunities
• Strong communication and relationship-building capabilities
