Job Description

Role: BO Crystal Reports Developer

Location: Abu Dhabi

Corporate Level: Developer

Business Objects (BO) Crystal Reports Developer designs, creates, and maintains complex reports using SAP Crystal Reports and Business Objects Enterprise. They gather requirements, write SQL, optimize performance, and manage reporting universes. Key duties include scheduling reports, supporting end-users, and ensuring data accuracy.

Role Purpose:

1. Report Design & Development: Create interactive, complex, sub-reports, drill-down, and cross-tab reports using Crystal Reports Designer.

2. Requirement Gathering: Translate business needs into technical specifications and data models.

3. BO Administration: Work with Central Management Console (CMC) to schedule, publish, and manage reports.

4. Data Handling: Write and optimize SQL queries and manage data connections.

5. Universe Design: Develop/maintain Universes (IDT/UDT).

6. Testing & Support: Perform Unit and System testing; troubleshoot reporting issues.

7. System Optimization: Monitor system performance, resolve complex technical issues, and manage system upgrades.

8. Support & Troubleshooting: Resolve complex technical issues and provide ongoing support to ensure system stability.

9. Documentation: Maintain clear and accessible technical documentation to support delivery and knowledge sharing.

10. Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating technical concepts into actionable outcomes.

Operational Excellence:

Ensure assigned systems of responsibility to be available for ADIB users with high level of availability, performance and application security without any business impact or financial loss.

Provide technical operational support and issues and problems resolution for assigned systems.

Deliver IT projects and tasks assigned for the agreed scoped business requirements, within planned budget, and planned time.

Comply with ADIB IT processes, and procedures.

Support requests of information, dashboards, MBLs and ad-hoc reports related to assigned systems.

Maintain the service level of vendors support and quality of development.

Improve awareness and keep knowledge up to date about supported systems and related IT technology solutions.

Communication:

Attend all the team meetings, one to one meeting to have a high level of communication culture.

Timely response to email, tasks assigned and diligent follow-up with various stakeholders.

Prepare task status reports and submit to stakeholders on timely basis.

Documentation / Process Ownership:

The incumbent is responsible to comply with ADIB documentation and process standards that are defined in SDLC.

Information Security:

Maintain information security related to ADIB, throughout the period of employment. As soon as possible, report any potential or actual risks or incidents affecting the security of information to the helpdesk. Maintain risk free / controlled IT environment at ADIB.

Adhere to ADIB security policy & avoid violations or failure of maintaining information security. Achieve satisfactory department audit with no high-risk findings on section.

Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge, Technical Competencies Required for this role:

5+ years of experience in BO crystal report development

Crystal Reports: Expert-level mastery of version 2013/2016/2020, including version upgrades and cross-platform integration. Expert level in Crystal Reports 2013/2016/2020 and SAP Business Objects XI R2/3.1/4.x

Tools: Experience with Business Objects Enterprise (BI Launchpad), Web Intelligence (WebI), and ETL tools.

Advanced SQL: Deep proficiency in writing complex, highly optimized SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers. Database: Strong knowledge of SQL (Oracle, SQL Server, SAP HANA).

SAP BO Suite: Extensive experience with Information Design Tool (IDT), Central Management Console (CMC), and Web Intelligence (WebI).

Data Modeling: Expertise in dimensional modeling, including Star and Snowflake schemas.

Administration: Competence in Central Management Console (CMC) for user rights management, scheduling, and server monitoring

Previous experience:

Worked in any banking sector within IT on digital channels platforms support.
