At Boutiqaat, we're looking for a Category Manager who can turn insights into action, suppliers into partners, and categories into growth engines. You will define and implement category strategies for territory-specific sub-categories, managing both local and international supplier relationships from sourcing and forecasting to branding alignment and stock optimization, you'll oversee the full end-to-end category cycle ensuring performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction. You'll also lead and supervise a dedicated purchasing team, ensuring the delivery of timely, high-quality, value-added services to the business.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Develop and execute category and process plans aligned with business objectives.
- Create rolling forecasts based on historical sales and seasonal trends.
- Build and manage OTB (Open-to-Buy) budgets and monitor category performance.
- Develop monthly action plans, promotions, and sales-driving initiatives aligned with the marketing calendar.
- Support global sourcing projects and strategic category initiatives when required.
- Conduct strategic sourcing and fact-based negotiations using cost analysis, benchmarks, and supplier insights.
- Define and execute supplier relationship management strategies.
- Identify supplier risk exposure and implement mitigation plans.
- Improve pricing, quality, lead times, fill rates, and operational efficiency.
- For private label products, oversee purchase patterns, production schedules, and logistics to meet demand.
- Place and validate purchase orders to ensure product availability meets forecasted demand.
- Develop exit strategies for slow and non-moving items through promotions or campaigns.
- Track daily and monthly performance against budget targets.
- Align with Sales, Marketing, Merchandising, and Digital teams to secure stock for upcoming events and campaigns.
- Work closely with Digital Marketing and celebrity collaboration teams to maximize category exposure and sales.
- Partner with IT and BI teams to enhance reporting, automation, and system functionality.
- Support branding initiatives to maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Assist leadership with strategic projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead daily purchasing operations and supervise team members.
- Allocate tasks and ensure compliance with company purchasing guidelines.
- Train new employees in purchasing systems and processes.
- Foster collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence within the team.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field
- 6-10 years of experience in category management or purchasing
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into strategic decisions
- Solid knowledge of marketing, sales, forecasting, and consumer trends
- Strategic mindset with strong decision-making capabilities
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to influence across all levels of the organization
