Role Objectives
As a Category Manager, you will oversee category revenue and profitability, set the vision and strategy, and manage customer insights and pricing. You'll collaborate with supply, demand, and marketing teams to ensure product availability and successful launches, while leveraging industry research to drive decision-making and growth.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage category revenue and profitability end-to-end
- Set the vision, strategy and product roadmap for the category
- Own customer insights for the respective category and develop a strategy to ensure we are meeting the expectations of our various customer segments. Engage customers through various channels as needed to meet category needs
- Manage pricing and promotion to incentivize trial and build retention
- Project and measure category sales and KPIs. Regularly share category performance with cross-department groups to align on opportunities for growth and improvement
- Work with supply & demand teams to create forecasts for new products volumes and to ensure product availability at all times
- Collaborate with marketing teams to inform new product launch campaigns as well as ongoing marketing for the category
- Responsible for tapping into industry research and trends, trying competitive products and gathering insights to shape our decision-making for the category
- Partner with Sourcing, Procurement, QA and Ops on any product issues, excess inventory or inventory shortages and address in a timely manner.
Job Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience as a Category Manager or a similar role
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field
- Strong negotiation skills
- An analytical mind with a strategic ability
- High organizational skill
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- MS Office proficiency
