Job Description
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements and reports in compliance with regulations.
- Manage the accounting and finance team to ensure efficient operations.
- Monitor and analyse financial data to support business decision-making processes.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, including timely filings.
- Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial planning activities.
- Review and improve internal controls and accounting processes.
- Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Chief Accountant should have:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
Certifications
- Active CPA is mandatory. Additional certifications (CFE, CMA) are highly desirable.
Experience
- Minimum of 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
- Experience in high-volume transaction environments or operationally complex companies.
- Prior experience in public accounting (Big Four preferred).
Skills & Competencies
- Expert-level knowledge of U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS.
- Strong proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
