Cloud Engineer

Client is seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer with 45 years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure on AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate should have strong experience in cloud services, automation, security, and monitoring while supporting scalable and reliable cloud-based solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP

Implement cloud architecture best practices for scalability, availability, and security

Manage compute, storage, networking, and database services

Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Deployment Manager

Configure and manage CI/CD pipelines

Monitor system performance, availability, and cost optimization

Implement security controls, IAM roles, and compliance standards

Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and application issues

Collaborate with DevOps, development, and security teams

Perform cloud migrations and support hybrid environments

Required Skills & Qualifications:

45 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role

Strong hands-on experience with AWS and GCP

Proficiency in core services:

AWS: EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, CloudWatch

GCP: Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, VPC, IAM, Stackdriver

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform preferred)

Knowledge of Linux/Unix administration

Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

Understanding of networking concepts (DNS, Load Balancers, Firewalls)

Experience with monitoring and logging tools

Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash)

Preferred Qualifications:

Cloud certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Engineer)

Experience with DevOps tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)

Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards

Experience with microservices architecture

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Good communication and documentation skills

Ability to work independently and in a team environment
