Role Overview
An established and growing organization in the construction and landscaping sector is seeking a Commercial Lead to drive strategic growth and strengthen its market position in Saudi Arabia. This role will focus on securing high-value projects, leading structured bid processes, overseeing robust estimation practices, and maximizing value from an established client base.
The role requires a balance of strategic business development, commercial governance, and operational oversight within a mature organizational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Development
- Identify and secure new project opportunities within the KSA construction and landscaping sector, aligned with company growth strategy
- Leverage an established brand and track record to access large-scale and government-backed projects
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including developers, consultants, and government entities
- Maintain a strong, diversified pipeline of opportunities across multiple project types
Structured Bid Management & Tendering
- Lead and manage the full tender lifecycle in line with company governance and approval frameworks
- Oversee the preparation and submission of high-quality, compliant, and competitive bids
- Coordinate cross-functional inputs from technical, procurement, finance, and legal teams
- Drive bid strategy, including pricing positioning, risk assessment, and win themes
Estimation & Commercial Oversight
- Provide leadership and oversight to the estimation function, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment with company margins
- Review and challenge cost plans, assumptions, and pricing strategies
- Ensure integration between estimation, procurement, and project delivery teams to protect profitability
Client Relationship & Account Growth
- Manage and grow relationships with existing and previous clients, ensuring repeat business and long-term partnerships
- Identify opportunities for framework agreements, call-off contracts, and project extensions
- Act as a senior commercial representative in client negotiations and key meetings
Commercial Governance & Risk Management
- Ensure all commercial activities align with company policies, procedures, and risk frameworks
- Oversee contract reviews, negotiations, and compliance (including FIDIC where applicable)
- Identify, mitigate, and manage commercial and contractual risks across bids and projects
Key Requirements
- 10–15 years of experience in commercial, business development, or bid leadership roles within construction or landscaping
- Proven experience within established organizations handling structured tendering and governance processes
- Strong track record of winning medium to large-scale projects in Saudi Arabia
- Deep understanding of estimation, tendering, and contract management practices
- Existing network within KSA (developers, consultants, government bodies)
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management
- MBA or relevant commercial qualification is advantageous
- Strong knowledge of FIDIC and regional contracting standards
