Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to oversee all commercial, contractual, and cost management aspects of large-scale construction and landscape projects. The ideal candidate will manage project budgets, contracts, claims, procurement, and financial reporting while ensuring strong commercial governance and maximizing project profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all commercial and contractual activities across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with project requirements and company policies.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets, cost plans, and forecasts.
  • Oversee procurement strategies, contract negotiations, subcontractor onboarding, and agreement finalization.
  • Evaluate and certify subcontractor payment applications, variations, and claims.
  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities, providing recommendations for mitigation and optimization.
  • Manage cost control processes, cash flow analysis, and financial performance reporting.
  • Review tender documents, BOQs, technical specifications, and pricing strategies.
  • Prepare and negotiate change orders, contractual claims, and dispute resolutions.
  • Coordinate closely with project managers, quantity surveyors, finance teams, and legal advisors.
  • Support project closeout, including final accounts, reconciliation, and documentation.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and key suppliers.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Commercial Management, or related field.
  • Extensive commercial experience in construction, infrastructure, or landscape contracting.
  • Strong knowledge of contract types (FIDIC or similar), cost control principles, and commercial risk management.
  • Proven experience handling claims, variations, procurement, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in commercial software/tools (e.g., ERP systems, cost control software).
  • Professional certifications (MRICS, RICS) are an added advantage.
