About the Role :
We are seeking a Communication, Navigation, and Identification (CNI) Systems Engineer to join our fixed-wing aircraft development team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, integration, and certification of advanced avionics systems, ensuring they meet operational and airworthiness requirements from concept through deployment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead CNI systems engineering activities including design, development, integration, logic definition, and system architecture
- Develop, manage, and review system requirements and descriptive technical documentation
- Support the establishment of CNI infrastructure, tools, laboratories, and engineering capabilities
- Oversee procurement, installation, and calibration of CNI line-replaceable units (LRUs) and associated systems
- Integrate CNI systems into simulation laboratories, including software and hardware simulators and stimulators
- Plan and execute Verification & Validation (V&V) activities:
- Qualification management
- Test plans and test procedure development
- Ground, laboratory, and flight testing
- Support the Airworthiness and Certification Office by:
- Identifying certification requirements
- Defining means and methods of compliance
- Performing compliance verification and validation for CNI certification subjects
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and regulatory authorities
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc.) in Aerospace Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline
- 3+ years of experience in systems engineering, systems integration, or related roles within aerospace or defense
- 2+ years of hands-on industry experience in Communication, Navigation, and Identification (CNI) systems
- Strong knowledge of aircraft system engineering standards, including:
- RTCA DO-160
- SAE ARP 4754
- SAE ARP 4761
- Proficiency with aircraft certification regulations, including at least Part 21 and Part 23
