Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a DevOps Engineer, located in Cairo with a blend of on-site and remote work. The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for designing and maintaining efficient software systems and pipelines. Key day-to-day tasks include automating workflows, managing software development pipelines, deploying and maintaining clusters in Kubernetes, as well as overseeing integration processes and optimizing system performance. The role requires close collaboration across teams to enhance development lifecycle efficiency and ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
3+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering roles
Strong understanding of SDLC and DevOps practices across development, testing, and production
Strong Linux system administration skills, including cron jobs, package management, user/permission management, and system troubleshooting
Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and maintaining DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Nexus, and similar platforms on Linux servers
Proficiency in Bash and/or Python for scripting and automation
Hands-on experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins
Advanced experience with Git and common branching strategies
Strong hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (K8s)
Hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift, including application deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting
Hands-on experience with Nexus for artifact and image management
Experience with ELK Stack or similar logging and monitoring tools
