Director, Data Sales

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Department: Commercial

Reports to: VP Commercial

Job Purpose

The Director of Data Sales leads Arabsat's government and data sales strategy, ensuring revenue growth, market expansion, and long-term customer retention across telecom operators, ISPs, government entities, and enterprise clients. The role drives commercial performance, manages a high-performing sales team, and builds strategic partnerships to strengthen Arabsat's position as a leading provider of satellite-based data and connectivity solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Government & Data Sales teams, set targets, and ensure achievement of revenue objectives.
  • Drive sales growth across government, enterprise, ISP, and telecom operator segments.
  • Expand market share through new business opportunities, partnerships, and innovative sales models.
  • Lead negotiations for major contracts and tenders, securing long-term agreements.
  • Strengthen key client relationships to maximize satisfaction, retention, and account growth.
  • Analyze competitive landscape and provide insights to support product and service development.
  • Oversee forecasting, budgeting, sales cycle efficiency, and segment-level performance reporting.
  • Collaborate with Product Development, Technical Operations, Marketing, and Finance to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Ensure coordination between sales, pre-sales, and technical teams for seamless solution delivery.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Telecommunications, or similar field; MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years in sales, business development, or account management in satellite, telecom, or ICT sectors.
  • 10+ years in leadership roles managing major accounts and high-performing sales teams.
  • Strong track record in government and enterprise sales with proven revenue growth.
  • Experience in solution selling, public-sector procurement, and high-value contract negotiation.
