Job Description

Job Purpose

Responsible for coordinating mechanical design and technical deliverables including HVAC, firefighting, plumbing, and wet-utility systems. The role ensures the accuracy and completeness of drawings, submittals, and calculations, supports issue resolving during construction, and contributes to aligning mechanical outputs with project goals and timelines.

  1. Principal Accountabilities

Policies, Processes & Procedures

  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures to ensure compliance and maintain a productive work environment.
  • Implement and uphold safety and security protocols to protect the well-being of all employees and company assets.

Projects Technicality Operation

  • Supervise the preparation, coordination, and review of shop drawings for all mechanical systems, including HVAC, firefighting, plumbing, water supply, wastewater, irrigation, stormwater, and pump stations.
  • Review and approve subcontractor submissions, technical data sheets, and method statements to ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable standards.
  • Lead the preparation and resolution of RFIs related to mechanical and utilities systems, addressing coordination issues, design gaps, or unclear requirements.
  • Manage material submittals for mechanical works across building services, infrastructure, follow up on technical approvals and delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, and infrastructure teams to ensure integrated designs and resolve site implementation challenges.
  • Evaluate supplier and subcontractor technical proposals and contribute to cost-effective and compliant engineering solutions.
  • Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineers in both MEP and wet-utilities, while monitoring and reporting the status of technical deliverables, identifying risks, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Technically review the material submittals, method statements, and calculations.
  • Coordinate effectively with structural, electrical, and architectural teams to resolve design and execution issues.
  • Manage RFIs, change requests, and design clarifications related to mechanical and wet utility systems.
  • Provide technical support and resolve construction-related issues during installation and commissioning.
  • Perform quantity surveying and validate BOQs for mechanical and wet utility systems.
  • Track and document project progress, approvals, and technical logs.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, and deliverables related to mechanical and wet utility systems.

Self-Management

  • Follow technical objectives set by engineering management and report regularly on progress, bottlenecks, and design coordination status.
  • Enhance knowledge in mechanical systems, underground networks, and integrated services, while staying up to date with new technologies, materials, and execution methods relevant to MEP and wet utilities works.

Miscellaneous Duties

  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the team and overall business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Mechanical Engineering
  • 5-8 Years of relevant experience in construction technicality
