Job description:
Job Purpose
Manage the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects, from initial planning through to completion. Responsible for cost estimation, budgeting, procurement, contract management, and ensuring that the project is completed within its financial constraints.
Key Accountability Areas
Cost Estimation:
- Prepare estimates for labor, materials, and overheads
- Conduct feasibility studies
- Analyze drawings and specs for accurate forecasts
Budget Management:
- Monitor and report on budgets
- Recommend cost-saving measures
- Identify inefficiencies
Contract Administration:
- Draft and review contracts
- Ensure contract compliance
- Manage variations and advise on obligations
Procurement:
- Oversee procurement of resources
- Evaluate suppliers
- Align purchases with budget and schedule
Measurement and Valuation:
- Measure completed work and prepare valuations
- Conduct site visits to verify progress
- Maintain accurate records
Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate financial risks
- Monitor legal, safety, and environmental compliance
Reporting and Documentation:
- Provide financial reports
- Maintain records of contracts and payments
- Prepare final accounts
Collaboration and Communication:
- Coordinate with project stakeholders
- Resolve cost and contract issues
- Support team alignment
Value Engineering:
- Evaluate design options for cost-efficiency
- Recommend improvements without affecting quality
Cost Control:
- Implement cost control strategies
- Update estimates with scope or schedule changes

- Comply to related policy and procedures and work instructions.
Health, Safety, and Environment:
- Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products/services.
