Support Glassline's commercial success by preparing accurate, competitive, and technically compliant cost estimates and tender submissions for faade and aluminum projects. The role focuses on cost engineering, quantity take-offs, pricing build-ups, and pre-contract technical coordination, ensuring bids are commercially viable, aligned with internal pricing guidelines, and execution-ready.
Responsibilities
Estimation & Cost Engineering
Review drawings, BOQs, specifications, and tender documents to fully understand project scope and requirements.
Review detailed quantity take-offs with the QS for aluminum, glass, faade systems, and related components.
Develop cost estimates and pricing build-ups in line with approved cost databases, productivity norms, and pricing strategy.
Identify key cost drivers, assumptions, exclusions, and commercial risks within each tender.
Support margin calculations and cost optimization under guidance from senior team members.
Obtain and evaluate competitive quotes from local and international suppliers/subcontractors.
Technical Coordination & Tender Support
Coordinate with the Technical Team to confirm system selection, materials, and technical compliance.
Review tender documents for constructability and execution feasibility in coordination with Production and Operations.
Prepare technical compliance statements and assist in responding to tender clarifications.
Support value-engineering proposals to improve competitiveness while maintaining compliance.
Assist in preparing final tender submissions and documentation.
Internal Coordination & Commercial Alignment
Coordinate closely with Sales, QS, Technical, Production, and Operations teams during tender preparation.
Provide accurate and timely estimation inputs to support bid strategy and go / no-go decisions.
Participate in internal bid review meetings and incorporate feedback into final submissions.
Support smooth handover of awarded projects to QS and Operations teams.
Data Management, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Maintain and update estimation spreadsheets, cost models, and pricing tools.
Support the maintenance of cost databases, supplier quotations, and historical project data.
Track tender outcomes and support post-tender reviews to improve future pricing accuracy.
Assist in developing standard estimation templates and documentation.
Technical Requirements
Good understanding of aluminum systems, faade components, glass types, and related hardware.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and faade drawings and specifications.
Solid understanding of estimation principles, quantity take-offs, and cost build-ups.
Familiarity with fabrication, production, and installation processes affecting cost and productivity.
Ability to identify basic technical and commercial risks impacting pricing.
Experience & Skills
3 to 6 years of experience in estimation and cost engineering
Strong numerical, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills.
Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously.
Good coordination and communication skills with internal teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimation tools; ERP or costing software experience is an advantage.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical field.
