JOB DESCRIPTION
Role: FM Engineer
Location: Abu Dhabi
Role Purpose:
- The FM Engineer is responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance, and reliability of building services and infrastructure across ADIB's portfolio.
- This role ensures that Hard FM services are delivered in line with bank standards, regulatory requirements, health & safety obligations, and customer service expectations, while contributing to the development of national talent within the FM function.
- This position supports business continuity, operational resilience, and service excellence in a highly regulated banking environment.
Key accountabilities of the role:
Hard FM Operations & Engineering Support:
- Support the operation and maintenance of MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical systems, UPS, generators, plumbing, lighting, lifts, and ELV systems.
- Monitor execution of preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure reliability and compliance.
- Assist in diagnosing technical faults and coordinating timely resolution to minimize operational impact.
Critical Facilities & Banking Environment Support:
- Support technical readiness of branches, head office, data rooms, and critical facilities.
- Assist in ensuring continuous availability of power, cooling, and fire protection systems.
- Support emergency response and recovery during facility or system incidents.
Vendor & Contractor Coordination:
- Coordinate and monitor FM service providers and contractors performing on-site work.
- Verify work quality, safety practices, and adherence to approved scope and SLAs.
- Support vendor performance reviews and service improvement initiatives.
Compliance, Safety & Governance:
- Ensure FM activities comply with UAE regulations, Civil Défense requirements, CBUAE expectations, and internal bank policies.
- Support implementation of HSE standards and safe systems of work.
- Participate in internal audits, inspections, and regulatory visits as required.
Projects & Improvements:
- Provide technical support for new branches, refurbishments, and relocations.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and handover documentation.
- Support testing, commissioning, and asset handover processes.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate FM records including:
- Asset registers
- Maintenance logs
- Technical reports
- O&M manuals and as-built documentation
- Prepare technical inputs and reports for FM management.
Emirati Development & Knowledge Building:
- Participate in structured on‑the‑job training and development programs.
- Gain exposure to FM governance, quality, and compliance practices.
- Contribute to building sustainable in‑house FM engineering capability.
Specialist skills / technical knowledge required for this role:
Technical Competencies:
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of building services engineering (MEP)
- Understanding of maintenance processes in commercial or corporate facilities
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals

Qualifications & Experience:
- This position is for UAE Nationals only.
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, Facilities, or Engineering discipline.
- 3 to 4 years of experience in facilities, engineering, or technical operations.
