Job Description

Ecomma is a rapidly growing private equity firm with proven expertise in acquiring ecommerce brands worldwide. We excel in a range of areas that drive genuine results and online growth, including:

  • Value Creation: Strategically investing to maximize the potential of our acquired brands.
  • Operational Excellence: Leveraging best practices and a seasoned team to optimize brand operations.
  • Sustainable Growth: Prioritizing long-term success with sustainable practices.
  • Data-driven Marketing Strategies: Using data to tailor marketing campaigns for optimal reach and conversion.

We asked our current team members to tell us what they love about working at Ecomma, and here's what they shared:

  • Supporting top-tier brands that truly make a difference in the world.
  • Knowing the impact of our expertise (check out our success stories).
  • Connecting with C-level executives and leading e-commerce businesses.
  • Working in the world's most progressive industry at a firm that prioritizes personal development.
  • Enjoying a great atmosphere with fun team outings.
  • Having the opportunity for substantial compensation, including lucrative bonuses.
  • As Head of Agency | Marketing Director | Customer Success, you will be the driving force behind the operational performance of Ecomma's active portfolio businesses and post-sale agency accounts. Your mission is simple: build and run a tight operating system that stabilises businesses quickly, drives revenue and EBITDA improvement, makes portfolio businesses exit-ready, and ensures the engine behind both Portfolio and Agency runs with discipline, speed, and accountability.

This is a highly commercial and turnaround-focused role. You will take ownership of portfolio business performance, agency operations oversight, transition and handover discipline, EBITDA improvement, and Build Your Own project coordination, with the clear goal of turning around the businesses we manage and making them commercially stronger, more stable, and less founder-dependent. You will work closely with our COO, CEO and leadership team to ensure operations directly support commercial outcomes, retention, and exit readiness. We are looking for a Head of Agency | Marketing Director | Customer Success with a strong operator background in e-commerce, portfolio management, or multi-brand business operations. Someone who understands revenue, margin, and EBITDA, how to identify where a business is leaking, how to move fast, and how to use AI tools and workflows to run a lean and highly effective operating department. Are you the next Head of Agency ready to scale Ecomma to the next level

What you will do

  • Own Portfolio Business Performance: Take full ownership of the weekly operating rhythm across all active portfolio businesses. Track revenue, gross margin, and EBITDA by business, identify underperforming brands early, and drive recovery plans that push businesses toward stronger commercial performance and exit readiness.
  • Drive Agency Operations Oversight: Oversee the operating side of agency-managed businesses after handover. Ensure clear alignment between what has been promised and what is realistically deliverable, with tight coordination between CSM, performance, ops, and technical support. Improve account stability, issue resolution speed, and internal accountability to support retention.
  • Own Transition and Handover Discipline: Own and enforce seller-to-portfolio and portfolio-to-agency handover standards. Ensure all required inputs, documents, and business context are transferred properly, flag incomplete handovers early, and reduce loss of momentum during change of ownership and internal transition.
  • Drive EBITDA and Self-Sustainability: Push portfolio businesses toward stronger EBITDA performance. Improve visibility into what is driving profitability or dragging it down, support working capital awareness and operational cost discipline, and help the division move toward being financially healthier and less dependent on founder intervention.
  • Oversee Build Your Own Projects: Lead the operational coordination of active BYO projects once live. Ensure structured follow-through across launch, setup, and performance phases, and coordinate with relevant teams to keep projects moving and commercially on track.
  • Solve Cross-Functional Operating Issues: Work with internal teams to resolve supplier, logistics, customer service, marketing, and website issues affecting portfolio performance. Be the person who unblocks things quickly so senior leadership does not need to jump in constantly.
  • Make Portfolio Businesses Exit-Ready: Drive brands toward stronger commercial performance, operational stability, and sellability so portfolio numbers become visible, reliable, and improving.
  • Build a High-Performance Operating Team: Set a clear weekly cadence for priorities, blockers, follow-ups, and accountability. Ensure team members know what they own and by when, push for strong follow-through rather than just updates, and escalate issues early rather than allowing drift.
  • Implement AI-First Workflows: Bring an AI-first mindset to the operating department by using AI tools, automations, and systems to improve speed, output, reporting, and team efficiency across portfolio and agency.
  • Track Performance Relentlessly: Set clear KPIs and reporting structures across portfolio and agency, including portfolio revenue growth, EBITDA, number of exit-ready businesses, time to stabilise post-handover, red/at-risk brand count, recovery rate on underperforming brands, handover completion quality, and operational SLA follow-through. You understand that operations exist to generate measurable business outcomes, not activity reports.
  • Improve Stability and Accountability: Continuously refine operating rhythm, escalation paths, and cross-functional discipline so agency ops become less reactive and more structured, and businesses stop drifting after handover.
  • Create a Scalable Operating Engine: Build an operating function that is structured, repeatable, lean, and able to scale alongside the company as we continue to grow.

We operate using Google Workspace, Slack, and Notion. Thus, familiarity and hands-on experience with these platforms are important for this role. The candidate should be fluent in English, with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. A strong commercial instinct, analytical thinking, fast execution, and high ownership are essential. Tools in use may include portfolio performance trackers, P&L and EBITDA reporting dashboards, handover and documentation systems, project and task management platforms, client/account management tools, and AI platforms that improve output, speed, and operating efficiency.

What you bring to the table:

  • 5+ years of experience in e-commerce operations, portfolio management, multi-brand business operations, or agency operations leadership, ideally in a high-growth, roll-up, or aggregator environment.
  • Proven experience stabilising, turning around, and driving commercial improvement across multiple businesses at the same time.
  • A strong background in operations and commercial performance, with clear evidence that you know how to move businesses from underperforming to exit-ready.
  • Experience leading and coordinating cross-functional teams, including CSM, performance, ops, finance, and client/account contributors.
  • A highly commercial mindset. You understand revenue, gross margin, and EBITDA, not just task execution, and you know how operations should directly support commercial outcomes.
  • Experience working in e-commerce operations, roll-up/aggregator/multi-brand portfolios, agency operations, or GM/multi-store environments is a strong plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and confidence with P&L, reporting, attribution, and decision-making based on data.
  • An AI-first mindset. You actively use AI tools, workflows, and automations to improve operating output, team efficiency, and speed of execution.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple businesses, handovers, and priorities at the same time.
  • Strong follow-through, escalation, and cross-functional coordination skills. Able to work with performance, ops, finance, and client/account teams without getting lost in the noise.
  • A hands-on mentality. You are strategic, but you are also willing to dig into the detail, fix issues directly, and drive accountability when needed.
  • Calm under pressure, but not soft on accountability. High standards, strong ownership, and the ability to build a culture of urgency and operational clarity.
  • Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to conducting business with integrity.
