Wood is seeking an experienced Hexagon SmartPlant Foundation (SPF) Administrator for a full-time, permanent position based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This is a technically challenging role responsible for building and managing SPF environments from scratch within our company's ecosystem. You will customize SPF to meet project-specific needs, ensure timely delivery of engineering data across multiple disciplines, and maintain high standards of data integrity. In addition, you will produce key technical documentation (such as FRS, FDS, customization records, as-built and handover packages), train team members and end-users on SPF usage, and communicate effectively with client stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- SPF Setup & Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain SPF environments from scratch, including setting up data models and lifecycle workflows to meet project requirements.
- Customization & Integration: Customize SPF modules and schemas to fulfill project-specific requirements and integrate SPF with various engineering SmartPlant tools (e.g., SmartPlant P&ID, Smart 3D, SPI, SPEL), Authoring domains and SPF Datawarehouse for seamless data exchange.
- Reports & Data Views: Develop and configure project-specific reports, data views, and dashboards within SPF to enable efficient data retrieval and decision-making.
- Authoring Domain: Develop and configure Authoring domain for line list, Equipment list, Instrument list etc. Datasheet configuration would be preferable but not mandatory.
- Schemas: Deep knowledge about schema mapping such as classes, interfaces, and UID synchronization. Attributes mapping, property matching, Enum/Codelist mapping, etc.
- Document Association: Deep knowledge about SPF tag to document association, publishing from Authoring Tools such as SPPID, SPI, SPEL & S3D, Data capture module includes non-intelligent documents
- Database & Performance Management: Oversee the SPF database and system performance (Oracle/MS SQL, server resources), perform routine maintenance, and troubleshoot issues to ensure a reliable and optimized system.
- Cross-Discipline Coordination: Work closely with multiple engineering disciplines to capture their data requirements and ensure the SPF configuration supports multi-discipline workflows. Deliver solutions on schedule that align with each discipline's needs.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the project. This includes Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS), Functional Design Specifications (FDS), detailed customization records, and as-built/handover documentation for the SPF implementation.
- Training & Support: Train and support internal system team members and end-users on SPF functionalities, best practices, and new features. Develop user guides or training materials as needed to boost proficient use of the system.
- Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with client representatives and internal stakeholders to manage expectations, gather feedback, and ensure successful delivery of all SPF-related deliverables and requirements.

Expected:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in SmartPlant Foundation administration and configuration.
- SPF Implementation: Proven track record of delivering SPF environments from scratch for large engineering projects, including successful customization and deployment.
- Technical Skills: In-depth understanding of SPF data models, engineering workflows, and lifecycle configuration. Strong knowledge of multi-discipline engineering data management and integration between SPF and other design tools.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate with engineering teams and effectively train/support end-users and stakeholders.
Desirable Skills
- Abu Dhabi Project Experience: Prior experience working on engineering projects in Abu Dhabi.
- ADNOC Familiarity: Experience with ADNOC projects or standards is a significant plus (familiarity with ADNOC's engineering data requirements and processes).
- SDx / SDx2: Experience an advantage
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) processes in oil and gas sector.
