Position Objectives
- Lead and manage HSE function on data centre site to ensure zero-harm operations and full compliance with the project HSE plan, client requirements, and regulations.
- Oversee field audits, toolbox talks, and high-risk activity monitoring (lifting, energisation, confined space) to prevent incidents.
- Drive proactive safety culture, risk identification, and continuous improvement for a mission-critical construction environment.
- Ensure timely reporting, investigation, and closure of incidents/near-misses to support safe handover.
Job Description and Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct regular field HSE audits, inspections, and observations across site activities.
- Deliver and track daily/weekly toolbox talks, safety inductions, and task-specific briefings.
- Monitor and authorize high-risk operations: crane/lifting activities, electrical energisation, confined space entry, hot work, and excavation.
- Perform risk assessments, review method statements and permits-to-work for critical tasks.
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and hazards; lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Maintain HSE documentation, incident logs, audit findings, and permit registers.
- Liaise with client, contractors, and authorities on HSE matters and support handover safety close-out.
- Promote safety awareness through campaigns, signage, and leading by example.
Qualification and Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 815 years of HSE management experience on large construction sites (data center or critical infrastructure preferred).
- Strong knowledge of high-risk activity controls: lifting operations, electrical safety/energization, confined space entry, work at height, and permit systems.
- Familiar with international standards such as OSHA, ISO 45001, NFPA 70E, local Saudi regulations (e.g., SASO, MOL), and data center safety guidelines.
- Proven skills in conducting audits, leading investigations, delivering toolbox talks, and managing HSE documentation.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Proficient in HSE reporting tools, risk assessment software, and MS Office.
- Preferred: NEBOSH IGC/Diploma, IOSH Managing Safely, Lead Auditor certification (ISO 45001), First Aid/CPR, or relevant Saudi safety credentials
