Image Description Specialist (AI Training)

What if your eye for detail and love of language could directly shape how AI understands the visual world We're looking for Image Description Specialists to write rich, accurate descriptions of images that help cutting-edge AI systems learn to interpret visual content — from everyday photos to complex diagrams.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role open to anyone with strong observational and writing skills. No background in photography, art, or AI is required — just a sharp eye, clear writing, and a commitment to quality.

What You'll Do
- Write detailed, accurate descriptions of a wide variety of images — including photographs, illustrations, charts, and diagrams
- Identify and describe key visual elements such as objects, scenes, actions, spatial relationships, and context
- Follow structured guidelines to ensure consistent format, depth, and detail across all descriptions
- Maintain high accuracy and quality standards across large batches of images
- Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule
Who You Are
- Strong observational skills — you notice the details others overlook
- Clear, descriptive writing ability that translates what you see into vivid, accurate language
- Comfortable working through structured, task-based assignments at scale
- Detail-oriented and consistent, even across repetitive work
- Self-motivated and reliable when working independently
- No prior AI, photography, or art experience required
Nice to Have
- Background in writing, editing, journalism, or communications
- Experience with content annotation, data labeling, or quality assurance
- Familiarity with accessibility standards or alt-text writing for digital content
