- Ink Formulation & Development
- Formulate inks for various substrates (film, paper, foil) ensuring proper viscosity, color strength, drying properties, and adhesion.
- Adjust ink formulations based on print trials, customer specifications, or changes in raw material batches.
- Develop new ink systems or improve existing ones to enhance print quality and efficiency.
- Quality Control & Testing
- Perform routine tests: color matching, viscosity, drying rate, gloss, and rub resistance.
- Monitor ink performance during machines runs and troubleshoot issues such as color variation, smearing, or clogging.
- Maintain accurate records of ink batches tests, and corrective actions.
- Lab & Inventory Management
- Supervise inventory of ink and additives stocks.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and safe handling of chemicals.
- Maintain lab equipment (k-bar, spectrophotometers, pumps, RK devices) and ensure calibration and upkeep.
- Ensure the ERP data entry is accurate and up to date.
- Staff Supervision & Training
- Lead and train lab technicians in ink preparation, testing procedures, and safety protocols.
- Schedule shifts, assign tasks, and monitor performance to meet production deadlines.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with machines operators and production teams to ensure inks meet performance standards.
- Communicate effectively with quality assurance and management regarding issues, improvements, or customer feedback.
- Safety & Compliance
- Enforce safety protocols, including chemical handling, storage, and disposal.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations regarding solvent emissions and waste management.
