Job Description

The Design Manager Interior Design will play a key role in the early stages of project delivery, supporting business development, proposal preparation, and project mobilisation. The role involves managing design inputs, coordinating with Project Managers, and ensuring efficient resource planning and utilisation across Interior Design projects.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field
  • Minimum 1012 years of experience in Interior Design within a consultancy environment
  • Proven experience in preparing fee proposals and responding to RFPs
  • Strong understanding of project mobilisation and early-stage design management
  • Experience in resource planning, manhour tracking, and budget control
  • Strong coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams and Project Managers
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with project management and resource tracking tools is an advantage

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Proposals

  • Prepare fee proposals in line with project scope and company standards
  • Review and respond to Requests for Proposal (RFPs)
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to define scope, deliverables, and timelines
  • Support bid submissions and contribute to winning new projects

Project Initiation & Coordination

  • Lead the initial stage of project mobilisation and setup
  • Gather and organise all required project information and documentation
  • Establish design deliverables in coordination with the Project Manager
  • Ensure alignment between client requirements and internal teams

Design Management

  • Oversee Interior Design deliverables during early project phases
  • Coordinate with design teams to ensure timely and quality output
  • Monitor progress against agreed timelines and scope

Resource Planning & Monitoring

  • Track and monitor resource allocation and utilisation
  • Review and control manhours against project budgets
  • Coordinate with discipline leads to optimise team performance
  • Maintain accurate records of hours spent and forecast requirements

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Liaise with Project Managers to ensure alignment on deliverables and schedules
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across Mirage
  • Support communication with clients during early project stages
