Title: Logistics Coordinator Foreign Purchase

Function: Supply Chain

Reporting to: Logistics Manager

Location: Cairo, Egypt

About the Role

As a Logistics Coordinator in Cairo, Egypt, you will manage purchase orders, coordinate with suppliers and freight forwarders, and oversee customs clearance. This role ensures efficient supply chain operations, compliance with regulations, and timely updates to the sales team and Logistics Manager, contributing to seamless and effective processes.

This position is based in Maadi, Cairo. The candidate must be able to reside in Cairo and work in Maadi.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and issue purchase orders to suppliers while managing the shipping and clearance processes.
  • Assign freight forwarders as needed, negotiating to secure the most competitive rates.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure the timely and accurate receipt of materials in accordance with official orders.
  • Follow up with customs brokers to ensure materials are cleared within the free period, avoiding any demurrage or detention charges.
  • Provide periodic reports to the Logistics Manager on shipment statuses.
  • Update the ERP system promptly with all shipment details.
  • Collaborate with the sales department to keep the sales team informed about the precise status of orders.
  • Review all shipping documents to verify their accuracy and compliance with formal regulations.
  • Minimize lead times by efficiently coordinating with all relevant parties involved in the process.

Requirements

  • University degree and at least 2 years of work experience in logistics.
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems; experience with Dynamics 365 is a significant advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of international freight systems and Incoterms.
  • High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in reviewing shipping documents and avoiding any mismatched information.
