Job Summary
Mobco Group is seeking a qualified and experienced Materials Engineer – Architecture to join our team for the prestigious Diriyah Project in Riyadh. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing, approving, and managing architectural materials to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and client requirements. The candidate must have strong experience in architectural finishes and materials for large-scale construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:-
- Review and approve architectural material submittals in accordance with project specifications
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and procurement teams regarding material approvals
- Evaluate material samples, mock-ups, and shop drawings
- Ensure all materials comply with project specifications, standards, and quality requirements
- Monitor material delivery and ensure compliance with approved submittals
- Conduct site inspections to verify installation and usage of approved materials
- Liaise with procurement and engineering teams to resolve material-related issues
- Maintain material submittal logs and tracking reports
- Participate in technical meetings with consultants and clients
- Support value engineering initiatives for alternative materials where applicable
- Ensure compliance with project schedule and deadlines
- Review technical data sheets and manufacturer specifications
- Assist in preparing material approval documentation
Requirements & Qualifications :-
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 5–10 years of experience as Materials Engineer (Architecture)
- Must have experience in mega or large-scale construction projects
- Prior experience in Riyadh projects preferred
- Experience in Diriyah Project or similar heritage/high-end developments is a plus
- Strong knowledge of architectural finishes and materials including:
- Stone & Marble
- Wood & Joinery
- Metal & Cladding
- Glass & Glazing
- Paint & Coatings
- Flooring Systems
- Decorative Finishes
Skills & Competencies:-
- Strong technical knowledge of architectural materials
- Excellent coordination and communication skills
- Strong documentation and reporting skills
- Ability to manage multiple submittals and deadlines
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Familiarity with international standards and specifications
- Proficiency in MS Office and document management systems
Preferred Requirements:-
- Experience working with consultants and international standards
- Experience in heritage, high-end, or hospitality projects
- Knowledge of Saudi market suppliers and materials
- Immediate availability preferred
- Experience working with Tier-1 contractors preferred
