Mechanical Engineer | Overseas Assignment (Middle East)

Project Overview:
We are supporting the construction of amission-critical helicopter maintenance facilityin the Middle East for theU.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
This is asite-based mechanical engineering rolefocused on construction execution, coordination, and quality delivery of complex mechanical systems in an aviation and industrial environment.
Role Summary:
TheMechanical Site Engineerserves as the contractor's on-site technical lead for mechanical and plumbing systems during construction. The role focuses on installation quality, trade coordination, testing and commissioning support, and interface management with QC and other disciplines, particularly inrotary-wing maintenance hangars with high-consequence systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide on-site mechanical engineering support during construction
Review and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, submittals, and RFIs
Oversee installation and coordination of:
Aviation fuel systems and associated piping
Industrial and specialty gases
HVAC and ventilation systems
Mechanical interfaces with fire protection systems
Coordinate daily with CQC staff, safety personnel, USACE representatives, subcontractors, and vendors
Participate in coordination meetings, inspections, and progress reviews
Support testing, commissioning, system turnover, and closeout activities
Ensure compliance with contract documents, USACE EMs and UFCs, and applicable host-nation requirements
Required Qualifications:
Education:BS in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related engineering discipline).
Experience:7+ years total with3+ years on-sitedelivering complex mechanical scopes (industrial / aviation / mission facilities preferred).
Must have on-site construction experience, particularly working with gases and/or fuels.
Ability to work effectively in anoverseas, secure construction environment.
Strong coordination and field communication skills in English
Demonstrated experience with at least two of the following in vertical/industrial facilities:
Large-scale HVAC systems and controls
Domestic water / hot water systems
Floor trench drain systems / oil-water separation concepts
Special hazards fire protection interfaces (supporting foam systems, pump rooms, water storage coordination)
Preferred / Desired Qualifications:
PE license (U.S.) or ability to work effectively with the project DOR/commissioning authority.
Prior hangar/aviation maintenance facility experience (fire protection-driven coordination, drainage, classified spaces, large bay ventilation).
Experience with US Government project
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary range:USD$95,000$110,000annually (base, dependent on experience)
