Job SummaryThe MEP Designer is responsible for preparing detailed design drawings and layouts for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in building projects. The role involves coordination with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with project specifications, local authority regulations, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed MEP design drawings using AutoCAD/Revit (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, etc.).
- Develop load calculations, equipment sizing, and system layouts.
- Coordinate MEP services with architectural and structural drawings.
- Ensure designs comply with local authority regulations (e.g., Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Civil Defense, municipality requirements).
- Prepare shop drawings and as-built drawings.
- Conduct clash detection and coordination using BIM tools.
- Review and revise drawings based on consultant/client comments.
- Support project engineers during submission and approval stages.
- Assist in BOQ preparation and material take-offs.
- Attend coordination meetings when required.
Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 3-5 years of experience in MEP design (GCC experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, and fire fighting systems.
- Proficiency in:
- AutoCAD
- Revit MEP
- MS Office
- BIM software (Navisworks preferred)
- Knowledge of local authority regulations (DEWA, Civil Defense, etc.).
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
