Job Description:
The MEP Engineer is responsible for the design coordination, execution, supervision, and maintenance of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems for construction projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, local authority regulations, safety standards, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and ELV systems on site
- Review and coordinate MEP drawings, shop drawings, and material submittals with consultants and contractors
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, DEWA/SEWA/ADDC, Civil Defense, and local authority regulations
- Coordinate with civil, architectural, and other disciplines to resolve clashes and execution issues
- Monitor site progress, quality of work, and adherence to approved method statements
- Conduct inspections, snag lists, and ensure timely rectification of defects
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports and update project schedules
- Supervise subcontractors and manage manpower, materials, and equipment
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards and company quality procedures
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 510 years of experience in MEP works (UAE experience mandatory)
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical installations, plumbing, and firefighting
- Familiar with AutoCAD, MS Office, project planning tools
- Experience with high-rise, residential, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of local authority approvals and inspections is mandatory
