The Milestone VMS Application Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the Milestone Video Management System (VMS) environment. This role includes administering user access, managing system integrations, configuring federation and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and ensuring seamless operation of the VMS platform. The administrator serves as the technical expert for the VMS and supports both operational and project-based requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer the Milestone VMS environment, including configuration, updates, and troubleshooting.
- Manage user access and permissions using Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
- Configure and maintain VMS federation across multiple sites or systems.
- Support integrations with third-party systems (e.g., access control, analytics, or alarm management).
- Monitor system health, performance, and security of the VMS.
- Prepare documentation, technical reports, and logs related to system administration.
- Collaborate with IT teams, engineers, and end-users to resolve VMS issues.
- Provide training and guidance to users on VMS operations and features.
Requirements
- Experience in VMS administration, specifically Milestone VMS.
- Knowledge of VMS federation, RBAC configuration, and multi-site management.
- Experience integrating VMS with third-party systems.
- OEM VMS administration certification.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and system architecture diagrams.
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals, IP cameras, and video storage systems.
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science, or related field (preferred).
