Job Role
The ideal candidate for Buyer/Procurement Officer position will be strategizing to find cost-effective deals and suppliers as well as discovering the best ways for the company along with managing the supply chain effectively.
Key responsibilities:
Daily duties may include the following activities:
Developing procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective.
Sourcing and engaging reliable suppliers and vendors.
Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms.
Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility.
Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
Preparing and approving purchase orders and organizing and confirming delivery of goods and services.
Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
Managing and tracking shipments, inventory, and the supply of goods.
Preparing procurement reports.
Qualifications
Proven working experience as Buyer/Procurement Officer.
Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques.
Excellent skills in negotiations and networking.
Excellent in decision-making and working with numbers.
Experience in collecting and analyzing data.
Strong leadership capabilities.
Bachelor s degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration
Knowledge of plant and machinery will be an added advantage.
