Job Purpose
- To manage and deliver solar EPC projects, primarily rooftop and carport PV systems, by overseeing all project phases from mobilisation through planning, execution, commissioning, and handover.
The role ensures safe, high-quality, timely, and cost-effective project delivery while coordinating site engineering, construction activities, utility approvals, MV interfaces, procurement, and compliance with HSE and QA/QC standards.
Roles, Responsibilities, Duties
Project Planning & Management
- Manage all phases of the project lifecycle, including project kick-off, planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, and progress tracking to ensure timely delivery.
- Monitor project performance and proactively address risks, delays, or constraints affecting progress.
Engineering & Construction Coordination
- Coordinate site engineering and construction activities in accordance with approved IFC documentation.
- Supervise rooftop and carport installation works, including access arrangements, lifting operations, logistics, sequencing, and site supervision.
- Ensure construction activities are executed in accordance with technical specifications and project requirements.
Authority & Utility Coordination
- Manage coordination with utilities, authorities, consultants, and clients for project approvals and compliance.
- Oversee submission processes, inspections, approvals, and energisation procedures.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and authority standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Electrical & MV Interface Management
- Oversee Medium Voltage (MV) scope including trenching works, cable routing, and equipment coordination.
- Manage integration with RMU, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, and metering interfaces.
- Coordinate testing, commissioning, and energisation activities with relevant stakeholders.
Procurement & Logistics Management
- Control procurement activities, including vendor coordination, material deliveries, inspections, and storage.
- Monitor subcontractor performance across civil, electrical, and SCADA/I&C works.
- Ensure proper documentation, warranties, and material records are maintained.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with HSE standards, including Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems, toolbox talks, site inspections, and safety audits.
- Promote a strong safety culture across project teams and subcontractors.
- Identify and mitigate potential safety risks during project execution.
Quality Assurance & Control
- Implement QA/QC procedures, including inspections, quality documentation, and compliance checks.
- Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Monitor punch lists and ensure all quality requirements are met prior to project handover.
Commercial & Cost Control
- Maintain commercial oversight, including measurement verification, variation management, and cost monitoring.
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation to support claims and change orders.
- Ensure cost control and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
Commissioning & Project Handover
- Lead commissioning activities, including testing, system integration, and validation.
- Coordinate final inspections, energisation, and regulatory approvals.
- Ensure completion of handover documentation and successful delivery to the client.
- Occupational and workplace Health and Safety responsibilities:
- In addition to all job specific responsibilities, all employees are required to adhere to all Khidmah health, safety and environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, practices, and relevant legal and statutory health, safety and environmental requirements and obligations. All employees are personally responsible to familiarize themselves with these policies, procedures, practices, updates, etc. Khidmah HSE department regularly updates existing and introduce new policies, procedures and practices and each employee is personally responsible to ensure they stay updated and compliant with all such updates and new additions.

- Ensure whoever handles sensitive company information have taken the Security Awareness Training
- Know how to report a security incident (to IT ServiceDesk or InfoSec).
- Not Disable his/her OS firewall and/or Antivirus
- Restrict use to authorized purposes, Protect access accounts, privileges and associated passwords.
- Accept accountability of his/her individual user accounts, and maintain confidentiality
Qualification:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
PMP or PRINCE2 certification preferred.
NEBOSH IGC or IOSH Managing Safely certification is an advantage.
FIDIC or Contract Administration training is beneficial.
Experience and Skills:
Industry Experience (No. of years):
712 years of experience in EPC or construction project delivery, preferably within renewable energy or infrastructure projects.
Position/functional experience (No. of years):
35+ years of experience managing solar PV EPC projects, particularly rooftop or carport systems, including project mobilization, authority approvals, commissioning, and handover.
Competencies and Skills:
- Strong knowledge of grid-tied solar PV systems and EPC project execution practices.
- Experience coordinating Medium Voltage (MV) systems including RMU, transformers, switchgear, protection, and metering.
- Proficiency in project planning, scheduling, and reporting tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage project variations, costs, and documentation.
- Effective leadership and stakeholder management skills across contractors, consultants, and clients.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
- Familiarity with UAE construction practices and utility energisation procedures is an advantage.
