Job Description

GRID is looking for a Quantity Surveyor (Post-Contract) to support the commercial management of live real estate development. Working closely with senior commercial team members, this role will assist with cost control, interim valuations, variations, commercial reporting, and final accounts, helping ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets and commercial targets.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Control & Reporting

  • Assist in tracking project costs, commitments, and cash flow against approved budgets.

  • Prepare regular cost reports and forecasts for internal stakeholders.

  • Support the identification and reporting of commercial risks and opportunities.

Valuations & Payments

  • Assist in reviewing contractor and subcontractor interim payment applications.

  • Help prepare payment certificates in line with contract requirements.

  • Maintain accurate records of certified and paid amounts.

Variations & Change Management

  • Assist in evaluating variations, claims, and change events.

  • Support the preparation of variation assessments and recommendations.

  • Track approved and pending changes within the cost report.

Contract Administration

  • Assist with post-contract administration of consultant and contractor agreements.

  • Support compliance with contract terms, notices, and commercial procedures.

  • Maintain organized commercial records and correspondence.

Final Accounts & Close-Out

  • Assist in preparing and agreeing final accounts with contractors and consultants.

  • Support commercial close-out, including reconciliation of costs and documentation.

  • Assist with handover of commercial records at project completion.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Liaise with site teams, consultants, and contractors to capture changes and progress.

  • Support communication between development, construction, and finance teams.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • 23 years of post-contract quantity surveying experience on live construction projects.

  • Experience in real estate development, main contracting, or consultancy environments.

  • Exposure to residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments preferred.
