Job Description
- Prepare journal entries, bank reconciliations, invoices, and accounts payable.
- Review financial transactions to ensure their accuracy and compliance with applicable financial regulations and policies.
- Prepare periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual).
- Monitor accounts receivable and payable and liaise with relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct regular bank reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of balances .
- Perform periodic asset inventories and ensure reconciliation with accounting records.
- Support the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget and financial reports for senior management.
- Liaise with external auditors and provide all required documentation.
- Use electronic financial systems to record and monitor financial data.
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax and social security laws and regulations, where applicable .
Qualifications
Ø Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field .
Ø A minimum of four (4) years of relevant professional experience in accounting or finance.
- Experience in the government or semi-government sector is preferred .
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of local and international accounting standards (IFRS).
- Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., GRP).
- Strong analytical and organisational skills.
- Ability to prepare accurate reports in a timely manner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
