Senior Cost Control Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Cost Control Engineer to join our dynamic team at a leading construction firm. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing cost control processes, ensuring that all construction projects are delivered on budget while maintaining high-quality standards. Your expertise will support strategic financial planning and decision-making across multiple projects and align with our company's goals for efficiency and financial stewardship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project cost control systems to enhance forecasting accuracy.
• Analyze and report on project financial performance, identifying cost variances.
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to prepare and maintain project budgets and schedules.
• Implement and monitor cost control procedures and standards for ongoing construction projects.
• Conduct regular financial audits on project expenditures to ensure compliance with budgets.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports, including cost analysis and projections.
• Review project change orders and assess their financial impact on budgets and cash flow.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior cost control engineers in best practices and methodologies.
• Participate in project meetings to provide financial updates and support management in strategic decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost control, budgeting, and financial analysis within the construction industry.
• Proficient in cost control software and tools, such as Primavera P6, MS Excel, and other project management software.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and make sound recommendations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse project teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is a plus.
• Thorough understanding of construction processes and contractual agreements.
