BLCK. | Senior Designer Architecture & InteriorThe Senior Designer plays a key creative role within BLCK, contributing to the development of strong architectural and interior concepts while leading the design direction across projects. This role balances hands-on creative output with mentorship and guidance of junior designers, ensuring that design quality, narrative, and visual excellence remain at the core of every project.
Key Responsibilities
1. Concept & Design Leadership- Lead the development of architectural and interior design concepts from early stages.
- Translate briefs into strong spatial ideas, narratives, and visual directions.
- Produce and oversee high-quality design outputs including:
- Concept layouts and massing studies
- Mood boards, material palettes, and references
- 3D models, renders, and presentation drawings
- Ensure design concepts align with BLCK's identity, values, and design language.
2. Team Management & Mentorship- Guide, mentor, and review the work of junior and mid-level designers.
- Allocate tasks and manage design workflows within the team.
- Provide constructive creative feedback to elevate overall studio output.
- Ensure consistency and clarity across all design deliverables.
3. Design Development & Coordination- Develop concepts into coherent design schemes in collaboration with the technical team.
- Coordinate closely with the Technical Design Manager to ensure buildability without compromising creativity.
- Participate in internal reviews to refine layouts, details, and spatial quality.
4. Client & Presentation Involvement- Participate in client meetings and design presentations.
- Communicate design ideas clearly through visuals, diagrams, and storytelling.
- Address client feedback while protecting the integrity of the design concept.
5. Quality Control & Creative Direction- Maintain a high level of design quality across multiple projects.
- Review outputs to ensure visual clarity, proportion, materiality, and spatial coherence.
- Stay informed on design trends, materials, and global references relevant to BLCK's work.
Qualifications & Experience- Degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture.
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in architectural and interior design.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating concept-driven, high-end projects.
- Advanced skills in design tools (AutoCAD, SketchUp/Rhino, 3Ds Max, V-Ray/Corona, Adobe Suite).
- Experience managing and mentoring junior designers.
