Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Manager with strong business acumen, reporting to the General Counsel, to provide expert legal guidance across all organizational functions.
You will advise senior management, ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, review contracts and marketing materials, and manage legal and regulatory risks. You will oversee key legal projects, support corporate governance, shape internal policies, oversee regulatory filings, and manage disputes, ensuring the business operates confidently within legal and regulatory boundaries.
You will also play a key role in driving the transformation of the Legal Department by leveraging technology, including AI tools and solutions, to enhance efficiency, compliance, and risk management.
Job Description:
- Provide legal advice and support to the General Counsel, senior management, and staff on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters.
- Lead initiatives for the digital transformation of the Legal Department, including the use of AI, automation, and technology solutions to improve processes and outcomes.
- Review, draft, negotiate, and approve agreements, marketing, advertising, and promotional materials, and other legal documents to minimize risk and ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and oversee internal policies on customer agreements, terms of service, risk disclosures, and other client-facing legal documentation, ensuring compliance with CMA and other regulatory requirements.
- Manage regulatory filings, submissions, licensing requirements, and relationships with regulators across relevant jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with local, regional, and international legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Develop and oversee internal policies on customer agreements, terms of service, and risk disclosures.
- Develop and implement broader legal risk management policies and procedures to support the business's compliance and governance framework.
- Conduct legal research and provide updates on changes in laws, regulations, and their impact on the business.
- Manage and oversee litigation and dispute resolution processes.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel when necessary.
- Deliver legal training and promote a culture of compliance across teams.
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders (e.g. compliance, risk, business units) to align legal strategies with business objectives.
Job Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree in law (LLB) required; LLM or equivalent legal qualifications preferred.
- Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Minimum 810 years of senior in-house legal experience in corporate law, regulatory compliance, contract law, commercial law, and corporate governance, with strong knowledge of applicable regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and legal research skills.
- Extensive experience managing legal risk, leading projects, and providing clear, practical advice to non-legal stakeholders in dynamic, cross-functional environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in reviewing marketing, advertising, and promotional materials to ensure legal compliance.
- Proven ability to manage complex litigation, dispute resolution, and regulatory interactions.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- A forward-looking mindset with the ability to drive legal department transformation through technology, automation, and AI-enabled solutions.
