We are currently recruiting a Senior Manager - Quantity Surveying for our client based in Dubai, UAE for a Period of 13-Months.
Job Summary:
To lead quantity surveying and cost engineering activities across development projects, providing expertise in cost planning, estimating, contract administration, cost control, reporting, and risk management.
The role will ensure accurate cost management throughout the project lifecycle while supporting commercial decision making, contractual compliance, and successful project delivery.
Job Responsibilities:
1.Cost Planning & Estimating-
- Lead the preparation and review of project estimates, cost plans, budgets, and cost evaluations.
- Ensure estimating methodologies, benchmarks, and assumptions are applied consistently and accurately.
- Provide specialist guidance on complex, high-value, and high-risk cost matters.
- Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency and achieve value for money.
2.Contract Administration & Cost Control-
- Lead contract administration activities, including variations, claims, contractual correspondence, and final accounts.
- Assess contractor claims and variations and provide commercially sound recommendations.
- Review project cost and contractual recommendations before escalation through the appropriate approval process.
- Ensure commercial activities comply with contractual and project requirements.
3.Risk Management-
- Identify, assess, and manage cost, contractual, and project-related risks.
- Recommend and monitor appropriate risk mitigation measures.
- Review significant commercial exposures and escalate material risks when required.
4.Cost Reporting & Project Controls-
- Lead the preparation and review of cost forecasts, variation reports, claims reports, and project risk information.
- Monitor project cost performance and identify trends, risks, and potential budget impacts.
- Provide recommendations to support effective project controls and management decision-making.
- Ensure cost reports are accurate, complete, and delivered within required timelines.
5.Stakeholder & Team Management-
- Lead and coordinate quantity surveying resources across assigned projects and programmes.
- Ensure effective workload allocation, technical quality, and timely delivery.
- Work closely with project teams, procurement, finance, legal, consultants, and contractors.
- Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise on quantity surveying, cost management, and project controls.
- Support the implementation and improvement of cost management and reporting processes.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, Cost Engineering, or a related field.
- RICS or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
- 6-7 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying or Cost Engineering.
- Proficiency in CostX or similar estimating software, MS Project, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
- Experience in aviation, infrastructure, or large-scale construction/development projects, preferably in the UAE.
- Experience working on projects/programmes valued above AED 500 million.
- Strong knowledge of cost planning, estimating, contract administration, claims/variations, and cost reporting.
