Job Title: Senior Payments Test Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Payments Test Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and compliance of payment systems and platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in payment processing, strong testing skills (manual + automation), and a solid understanding of financial transaction flows.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute test strategies for payment systems (SWIFT, card payments, UPI, wallets, etc.)
- Validate end-to-end payment workflows including authorization, clearing, and settlement
- End to End testing support in UAT and SIT environment
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing
- Work closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and identify risks
- Analyze defects, perform root cause analysis, and track issues to resolution
- Test APIs, microservices, and backend payment integrations
- Simulate real-world payment scenarios including failures, retries, and reconciliation
- Participate in release planning and production validation (smoke testing)
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5–10+ years of experience in software testing, with strong focus on payments domain
- Hands-on experience with payment systems (cards, gateways, acquiring, issuing, UPI, NEFT/RTGS, SWIFT)
- Knowledge of databases (SQL) and data validation techniques
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
Technical Qualifications & Experience
- Payment's domain knowledge - Authorization → Clearing → Settlement → Reconciliation
- Methodology: Proficient in Agile/Scrum frameworks, with experience using tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps for defect tracking.
- Defect Tracking & Test Management - Familiarity with tools like Jira, Zephyr and writing clear bug reports and maintaining test cases
- Certification in software testing (ISTQB) or payments domain is a plus
