JOB OBJECTIVE
- Responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules to ensure the successful delivery of projects. The role involves planning, progress measurement, forecasting, risk analysis, resource loading, and providing management and project stakeholders with accurate schedule performance reports.
- Analyzing project schedules to identify delays, disruptions, and their causes. The role involves conducting detailed forensic schedule analysis, supporting claims preparation, dispute resolution, and providing expert insights on time-related issues in construction or engineering projects.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for creating, updating and monitoring Project schedules in P6 including customer, partners and suppliers dependencies.
- Provide reports/metrics including Critical Path, Earned Value, S-Curves, EAC variance, Critical milestones movement, KPIs & labor forecasts.
- Generate clear comprehensive reporting to management and stakeholders as required by process or contract
- Support and drive schedule optimization efforts to increase float, secure delivery, and reduce costs/rework.
- Analyze the data in these reports to identify trends, risks, and issues & work with the Core Team to resolve them
- Support critical Bids that require a full schedule in the Bid submission:
- Analyze the tender documents, and assess all contractual requirements for both the Bid submission and the Contract execution,
- create a comprehensive and effective Schedule Narrative when required
- produce an estimate of the level of effort for the planning function in the project
- lead the creation of a project schedule to the level required to be submitted in the bid
- Perform forensic schedule analysis to assess project delays and disruptions
- Review baseline schedules, updated programs, and project documentation
- Identify critical path activities and evaluate delay impacts
- Conduct cause-and-effect analysis of delays (excusable, compensable, concurrent)
- Support Legal and Contracts in Extension of Time (EOT) claims preparation and review submitted claims
- Develop delay analysis methodologies such as TIA, Windows Analysis, and As-built vs As planned
- Support claims and dispute resolution including arbitration and litigation
- Prepare technical reports and expert documents
- Collaborate with project managers, legal teams, and consultants
- Analyze productivity loss, disruption, and acceleration claims
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 6-7 years of experience in complex technology-based projects, preferably within the Metro/ Rail Sector
- Expert level skills in Primavera P6 & Microsoft Project software
- Advanced/Expert skills in Microsoft Excel
- Able to understand complex technology & resolve complex problems
- Excellent reporting and communication skills
- Proactive, able to work independently with little oversight or guidance
- Able to plan and manage program schedules including projects requiring over 1,500 activities
- Knowledge of TILOS & Primavera Risk analysis will be added advantage.
- Understanding of contract conditions (FIDIC, NEC)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
- 7 years of experience in planning/scheduling
- 2 years in forensic planning or claims analysis
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PSP, or MRICS (preferred)
