Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Planning Engineer for a role based in Dubai within a leading international consultancy. The successful candidate will play a critical role in project planning, delay analysis, and claims management, acting on behalf of the Employer to ensure contractual compliance and accurate project reporting.

Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop, review, and manage detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Monitor project progress against baseline schedules and identify deviations.
  • Provide strategic planning input to support project delivery and risk mitigation.
  • Extension of Time (EOT) & Claims Management

    • Demonstrate extensive experience in end-to-end claim development and detailed analysis.
    • Prepare and evaluate event registers in line with contractual requirements.
    • Assess event validity and ensure compliance with contract conditions.
    • Identify and clearly segregate:
    • Client delays
    • Contractor delays
    • Concurrent delays
    • Determine entitlement to extensions of time (EOT) and/or prolongation costs.
    • Perform comprehensive delay analyses using recognized methodologies, particularly Window Analysis.
    • Conduct independent delay assessments without reliance on formal contractor submissions.

    Reporting & Documentation

    • Review weekly and monthly progress reports submitted by contractors.
    • Prepare detailed and accurate reports on behalf of the Employer.
    • Provide clear insights on project status, risks, delays, and mitigation measures.

    Contractual Correspondence

    • Draft and respond to planning-related correspondence in a clear and professional contractual context.
    • Address communications to both Contractor and Employer, ensuring alignment with contract terms and project objectives.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
    • Minimum 10 years of experience in planning and scheduling within building projects
    • Proven experience working with international consultancies or large-scale projects in the Middle East (preferably UAE).
    • Strong expertise in EOT and claims management.
    • In-depth understanding of standard forms of contract (e.g., FIDIC).

    Technical Skills

    • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 for:
    • Planning and scheduling
    • Progress monitoring
    • Delay analysis
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
    • Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
